For oral use only. The quantity or concentration of carvacrol must be declared. Based on safety concerns, thyme oil oral intake of up to 4.16 mcg/kg bw/day is allowed, and the daily oral exposure of carvacrol from the product must not exceed 0.23 mcg/kg bw/day. If applicants would like to use a thyme oil with a higher content of carvacrol as a non-medicinal ingredient in their product, they must provide evidence to support its safe use.
