Source material:
Stevia rebaudiana   ( Parts: Leaf )

Additional details:

Detail:
Steviol glycosides is a highly concentrated extract obtained from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana, resulting in a content of steviol glycosides of not less than (NLT) 95% calculated on the anhydrous and solvent-free basis. If the extract has not undergone purification steps to highly concentrate the steviol glycosides content, the ingredient should be selected as Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract. If the extract has been purified in a manner that favours one of the steviol glycosides, the ingredient should be selected as the name of the isolated steviol glycoside (e.g., NLT 95% of Rebaudioside A).

General:

Detail:
As a sweetening agent, the quantity used should be according to conditions of Good Manufacturing Practice, i.e., the amount added to a natural health product in manufacturing and processing should not exceed the amount required to accomplish the purpose for which that ingredient is permitted to be added as non-medicinal. As a non-medicinal ingredient, it should not exceed 4 mg/kg bw/day expressed as steviol content, equivalent to 10 mg/kg bw/day for steviol glycosides.
